Boy Scout Troop 367 was originally chartered in October of 1964. In the fall of 1985 the troop was chartered in the Birmingham Area Council at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Vestavia Hills, AL. In the fall of 1986 the troop moved to it's current chartering organization of Riverchase United Methodist Church in the newly formed Shelby District of the Birmingham Area Council. In 1996 the Birmingham Area Council was renamed the Central Alabama Council. In 1998 the Central Alabama Council, Choccolocco Council, and Tennessee Valley Council merged to form the Greater Alabama Council.
Today the troop is chartered by Riverchase United Methodist Church in Hoover, AL. We are part of the Shelby District in the Greater Alabama Council.
Our membership usually includes 50 to 60 scouts each year. We have a very active year-round calendar that includes 10+ campouts a year with activities including backpacking, canoeing, bicycling, whitewater rafting, caving, and a week long summer camp, as well as service projects and high-adventure trips to Philmont Scout Ranch, Sea Base, Summit and others.
Our Riverchase United Methodist Church scouting family also includes Cub Scout Pack 367 and Venturing Crew 367
The Troop meets each Monday night (except following a camp-out) from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at RUMC. Please feel free to drop into a meeting to see what we're all about.
